Raimondi David and Goliath 2
note: Featuring vignettes of: - David anointed by Samuel (Guillaume de Marcillat) - David and Goliath (Perino) - The Triumph of David (Perino) - David and Bathsheba (Perino) Corners feature a fictive architectural colonnade with rounded-shaft Doric/Tuscan (?) columns, perhaps reminiscent of Peruzzi's Villa Farnesina Sala delle Prospettive (1517-1519). This design connection is supported by Dacos (2008), who noted that the entire format of these vaulted bays was perhaps borrowed from Peruzzi's fictive pergolated scaffold as seen in the Loggia di Galatea in the same villa. Work given to Perino del Vaga based on designs by Penni (for first and fourth episode) and by Giulio Romano (for second and third episode).
