note:  The inscription at the bottom of the painting reads: "RAPHAEL URBINAS F. MARINUS BRANCONIUS F.F.", however, many agree that Penni contributed to the landscape elements. Furthermore, Berenson (1932) argues for work by Perino, while Hartt (1944) adovated for Romano.
